Terms of Use

You must be at least 18 years old to use DentistUP. By using the App, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into these Terms and that the information you provide is accurate. DentistUP is intended for dentists and adult dental learners preparing for professional board, licensing, or related examinations. The App may contain oral-disease photographs, radiographs, and other clinical educational material.

DentistUP provides educational questions, cases, explanations, AI-assisted learning tools, progress analytics, and exam-preparation materials. User-to-user messaging is not available in the current release.

DentistUP is an independent educational product. Socket Science is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or acting on behalf of any examination board, licensing authority, dental regulator, university, or government body. Names such as AFK, NDEB, INBDE, ADC, and ORE may be used only to identify the examinations for which users may be preparing. All third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. DentistUP does not claim that its questions are official examination questions.

Exam formats, standards, guidelines, and clinical knowledge change. We do not guarantee that any content is complete, error-free, or current; that a particular topic will appear on an examination; that your App performance will predict your examination result; or that using DentistUP will result in passing, licensure, admission, employment, or any other outcome. You remain responsible for reviewing official examination information and deciding how to prepare.

Standard accounts can access the first Deep Study topic guide and first 10-question test in each branch, the Review Pool for questions already encountered, the first 100-question Mock Exam and Practice 1A/1B, the first five Clinical Cases, and Visual Cases Test 1. Other eligible content requires an active DentistUP Pro subscription or a Study Credit unlock. A Study Credit unlock remains attached to the purchasing account while that account exists. Pro access to content lasts only while the subscription entitlement is active. Pro members may still choose to permanently unlock eligible content with Study Credits.

You may access DentistUP through Apple, Google, email/password, or guest access. You are responsible for: maintaining control of your device, sign-in credentials, email, and app-store account; all activity performed through your account; providing accurate account information; and informing us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not sell, share, rent, sublicense, or transfer your DentistUP account. A guest account may be unrecoverable if the App is deleted or local authentication state is removed — linking a supported sign-in method is recommended. You may not impersonate another person, use a misleading identity, or select a nickname that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or infringes another person's rights.

DentistUP uses two closed-loop virtual credit types: Study Credits (used to unlock eligible tests, cases, and study content) and AI Credits (used to unlock eligible AI-generated explanations and learning tools).

Daily check-in no longer grants a Study Credit. Study Credits earned under the previous daily reward system remain in the account and may be used under the current unlock rules. We may correct a balance where credits were added or deducted because of fraud, a duplicated transaction, a technical error, a reversed store payment, or misuse. We will not arbitrarily remove valid purchased credits.

Credit packages are one-time consumable in-app purchases, not subscriptions. Purchases on iOS are processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchases on Android are processed by Google through Google Play. The store checkout screen controls the final price, currency, taxes, and payment terms. We do not receive your complete payment-card information. A purchase is complete only after it has been validated and the credits have been delivered to your DentistUP account. Purchased credits are tied to the DentistUP account that received them and cannot be transferred to another account.

DentistUP Pro is an optional, auto-renewing subscription offered for monthly, three-month, and annual periods. While active, it provides access to eligible study content and an included AI Credit quota. The current included quota is 60 for a paid monthly period, 180 for a paid three-month period, and 720 for a paid annual period. An eligible three-day free trial includes 5 AI Credits. Included quota is used before separately purchased AI Credits; unused included quota does not carry into the next subscription period. Purchased AI Credits remain separate and do not expire while the account exists.

An eligible user may be offered a three-day trial of the regular monthly plan. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the plan converts to a paid monthly subscription at the price shown in the store confirmation sheet and renews until cancelled. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple or Google account before the renewal date. To avoid a trial charge, cancel before the trial ends. Cancellation generally keeps Pro access until the paid period or trial ends. Deleting the App or your DentistUP account does not itself cancel a store subscription.

You can manage your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Refund requests are subject to applicable consumer law and the policies of Apple or Google, depending on where the purchase was made. Apple users may request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play users may request a refund through Google Play. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights.

If a refund, reversal, or chargeback is issued: credits delivered by the refunded transaction may be removed; content or AI entitlements associated with the transaction may be revoked; and access may be limited while a negative balance is reviewed. Deleting the App or your DentistUP account does not itself create a right to a refund.

DentistUP, including its software, design, branding, question bank, cases, explanations, images, graphics, prompts, and other original content, is owned by or licensed to Socket Science. You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use DentistUP for your own non-commercial exam preparation.

You may not, without written permission: copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, or distribute App content; record, scrape, bulk-download, or systematically capture questions or explanations; share purchased content or account access; circumvent screenshot protection, access controls, or purchase verification; reverse engineer or interfere with the App; use App content to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or populate another AI system, database, course, or commercial product; or remove copyright or ownership notices.

You may report a suspected error in a question, answer, or explanation. Reports must be submitted in good faith and must not include patient information, unlawful material, threats, or harassment. If you send suggestions or general feedback, you grant Socket Science a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right to use that feedback to operate and improve DentistUP, without identifying you publicly or owing compensation.

You may not: use DentistUP for an unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose; obtain multiple accounts to repeatedly claim one-time rewards; manipulate credits, achievements, performance data, or entitlements; use automated scripts, bots, or emulators to exploit or overload the App; probe, attack, or bypass security controls; attempt to access another user's account or non-public data; submit malware or deceptive reports; use the App to disclose confidential examination content obtained in violation of an examination agreement; or infringe privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights.

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, content, prices, or credit costs. A change to future pricing or credit costs does not reduce credits already validly held in your account. Features labelled "Coming Soon" are not part of the current service. DentistUP currently does not display third-party advertisements. Pro does not include a separate ad-removal benefit. Audio narration is not currently part of the subscription.

You may stop using DentistUP at any time and may delete your account through the App. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to address violations, prevent fraud or unauthorized access, comply with law, or operate or discontinue the service. Account deletion is permanent and removes credits and entitlements associated with the account, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

DentistUP relies on services provided by Firebase and Google Cloud, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. Your use of their authentication, payment, or platform services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Socket Science is not responsible for a third party's independent service, decision, outage, account restriction, or refund determination, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Socket Science harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of DentistUP, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or submission of confidential patient or examination information. This section does not require indemnification for losses caused solely by Socket Science's own unlawful conduct.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Subject to mandatory consumer-protection rights, disputes will be submitted to the courts located in British Columbia, Canada. Before filing a claim, you are encouraged to contact dr.socketscience@gmail.com to attempt informal resolution.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the App, law, pricing, or service providers. We will update the effective or last-updated date and provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use DentistUP after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you do not accept an update, you must stop using the App and may delete your account.

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a business transfer, restructuring, or operation of the App. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any purchase information displayed at checkout, form the agreement concerning your use of DentistUP.
